David Manning
Just wanted to give a shout out to my imaginary bretheren David Manning of the Ridgefield Press. David was invented by Sony to tout some of their most horrible movies. David is the eternal optimist even calling 2001’s The Animal “another winner!”

There is also Alan Smithee, a pseudonym sometimes used by directors who have worked on a film they aren’t too proud of. Often if a studio heavily edits a film against a directors wishes the directory may request his/her name be taken off of it. Someone’s name has to go on the film, that’s where Alan steps up to the plate.
