A friend of mine at work (wassup Joey C!) did something similar a few years ago where he created a recursive picture of his office as his desktop. He edited the monitor in the picture to have the picture as the desktop, and so on and so on. If you stood in the same place as he took his picture it was like looking into one of those mirror things.
